In 2022, Method wanted to create new body wash bar soap with a unique and functional shape. The shape needed to communicate functional uses, and it needed to feel friendly and on-brand.

A fast-moving ideation phase explored 40+ different concepts that were evaluated through 3D printing. 5 concepts were chosen and refined, and they were evaluated by manufacturing partners to help determine their feasibility.

While all of the shapes fit within the functional and sculptural goals of the project, manufacturing feasibility determined the best concept to move forward to production. The simple figure 8 shape adds ergonomic grip, and is elevated to let air flow underneath the bar to reduce the soap lost during it’s dry out phase.
